Batting a Loose Ball
If you saw the Monday Night Football game you saw a perfect example of an illegal bat. No player may bat a loose ball in any direction in the EZ. Read the rule for batting and kicking a loose ball in your pregame this week.
PHILOSOPHY / Batting
If a ball is about to go out of bounds at the sideline or the end line and a player jumps to save the ball by batting the ball back into the field of play or the EZ to keep it from going OOB we do not want to treat this as a bat regardless of which direction it goes.
I am confused. Seems the philosophy stated does not agree with the rules.
