Celina/WOS, Coach Mic'd?

They don't allow this at the college level, so why is it allowed with a UIL game?  Celina coach appears to be mic'd.

UIL cannot even follow their own rules.

It irritates me tremendously that we work so hard to learn and know the rules and mechanics, then see officials that do not know the rules or just look the other way and don't apply them and work this level of game?  It shows how truly weak the state of officiating in Texas is right now if this is the best we've got.  It's sad and frustrating.

If getting ahead is done by deciding to not enforce the rules, then why try very hard?  All you have to do is go out there and fetch the ball.

I had a great day and great week, but this stuff makes me sick.  It is embarrassing to see guys that cannot get even line of scrimmage 101.

Because it gives the average fan a better "insight" to the game. UIL is not concerned about how officials look. Do you think everything exchanged on the sidelines was shown?

It added some flair to the game and it is good to see that.  I like it when they do.

It didnt really have anything to do with officials anyways...

I was talking more about the illegal formation than the coach being mic'd. Waskom vs Franklin 5:08. 3rd qtr

What about all of the pads that have been showing all weekend. We work all year keeping them covered and you see them out in every game

How do you know these crews aren't working at it also?  I can't tell if you are commenting on the lack of attention or success of these crews in their uniform police efforts or the lack of succes you have had to teach the teams through the collective efforts of "we" this season.  If "we" had in fact been taking care of this all season then why are "we" still seeing a problem this week.

well according to NCAA/UIL it is not a uniform police issue. pads showing is a safety issue just as the over built face mask.  i did not see 1 over built face mask this weekend........

Pants above the knee; back pads exposed, et al. As a longtime Umpire I am used to the old-school way of being the uniform police. I agree, it gets frustrating to see the groundwork I do with the games/teams go completely undone the next week. This falls on the next man up, to continue enforcing the rules that the UIL/NCAA charge us with. Hell, if we can't be consistent in our own chapters, how in the hell can we expect it to be maintained state wide?
