The previous spot was called into question because the chains moved.

Rose Bowl.

Isn't that the reason we have .... Chain clips?

The box moved when the QB was coming toward the side line. I think he and the recorder may have disagreed on the previous spot when they went to set up for the next down.

This is why an auxiliary also has the spot. And usually someone writes it down.

Of course if the recorder is depending on the scoreboard that could be an issue.
