Sorry that this is another hockey topic, but one of our brothers in stripes has passed away.
NCHC, WCHA, and AHL official Butch Mousseau died today after being in a coma from brain injuries sustained in a freak accident during warmups before a WCHA Tournament game in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He was 48.
I had the privilege of attending a game he happened to be officiating, and he was a coach, player, and fan favorite. In that game, he caught a puck from the bench behind his back, no look. (as play had ended when a puck went into the stands)
He's survived by his wife and three children. If you're one who practices it, keep his family in your prayers. If you're not, please join me in offering our sincere, respectful condolences.
