Contrasting jersey colors
« on: June 09, 2016, 07:36:55 AM »
Hi all - I received an email from a coach today (Mass HS - NCAA rules) asking for an interpretation on these uniforms.  I know 1-4-5-c-1 says:

1. The jersey must have clearly visible, permanent Arabic numerals measuring at least 8 and 10 inches in height front and back, respectively. The number must be of a color that itself is clearly in distinct contrast with the color of the jersey, irrespective of any border around the number

My instinct says that the numbers have too much of the primary color in them to be considered contrasting, but I wanted to get another opinion before I replied.  Your thoughts?

Better yet, I would refer him to the state association and let them say no. No reason for you to be the bad guy.

I'd agree with Rulesman here.  Pretty sure that these would not pass the "distinct contrast" requirement but I'd let the MIAA answer the question.

I agree. I should have had a comma after my opinion
