sorry to barge in the topic but a friend from Brasil asked me to ask

Is there any clinics happening from March 3rd till 18th in the Orlando, Florida area?

Don't know if it's too early for clinics or study groups but It can't harm to ask.

He'll be in the area on those dates and if there's a chance, would like to participate

There's a clinic in Lakeland Mar 17-19. Lakeland is about 90 minutes from Orlando. Details can be found in the camps thread.

Hi LJ1977,  I've attended the Stars and Stripes Clinic and couldn't say more positive things about it!  Hands down one of the best clinics I've ever attended.  You get an amazing experience and the experience is the closest thing you can get to working at the D1 level.

Other clinics that have great on-field portions are South Florida (if it is still running) and the Tom Beard.

Best of luck!

For every coach that thinks we got it wrong there's another that thinks we got it right.

The best field clinic that we (NFHS chapter) ever had may be easier for you to obtain. Several years ago I was contacted by a good friend who is a D-1 referee. His crew was scheduled to work a U-Maine Thursday season opener and were required to arrive the previous evening. He stated that the previous evening usually included a review of their previous week's games and studying the tendencies of next day's opponents. Where it was the season opener for both officials and teams, they had nothing to watch and would be glad to put on a clinic for our chapter. I contacted a local coach that was amicable to supplying the teams , our chapter members came in uniform and for two hours were shadowed by the NCAA officials with very constructive advice. The following meeting ,we all announced the tips we had picked up...even the old vets had learned a few helpful hints.

We followed the clinic with a dinner with the officials. Our chapter picked up the dinner tab--it was cheap --NCAA guys can't partake of adult beverage on the night before!

Any of you that work near a D-I school with a home season opener might want to look into this.
