I am more confused then ever!

So after reading all of that, my understanding is that if the ball leaves the end zone momentum is expended?

B intercepts A's pass at the B4 and his momentum carries him into his own end zone.  In his attempt to advance the ball, he fumbles.  The ball rolls out of the end zone and a) OOB at the B2 b) is recovered by B at the B2 c) is muffed by team A into B's end zone where it rolls over the sideline.  Ruling?

Yes, when the ball leaves the end zone the impetus which put the ball there is lost (unless it goes out of bounds in the field of play, as it is then considered never to have come out in the first place). So, answers to your questions are: a) B 1/10@B-4 b) B 1/10@B2 c) safety. A.R.s 7-2-4-I and 8-6-1-III.

And this is made confusing by the removal of the old A.R., with it (and the two above) the intent of the rules makers would be pretty clear, IMO.

Ok that's what I thought.  K.I.S.S.
