Game clock Error, which I thought was on me...but turns out...

So had a game last Friday, Oct. 2nd, where the following situation occurred:

About 4:30 or so left on the clock. Clock was running (Could have been stopped, but I don't remember the exact circumstance, but I believe it was running as first mentioned). Six seconds run off, before the clock was stopped by the on field officials.

Home team coaches wanted the 6 seconds or so that had run off added back, which the R for that game did.

After the game had ended, I went to the officials locker room and asked the R if I had made an error in running the game clock in the above referenced moment. He said no, the error was on him and that I had did a good job.
I did have a few minor hiccups myself in the first half, but nothing that affected the outcome of the game.

I am also not afraid to own up if I have made a mistake. I am always looking to learn from any mistake I make, minor and serious. After all, how am I going to learn to be a good clock operator if I don't learn from my mistakes.

Well said. We all make mistakes, we are human. Just have to realize it and try to not do it again. Mistakes are how we learn.
