Reminder to everyone to take stuff like this seriously - currently sitting in a hospital bed, decided to get checked out after two days of chest pressure (not really pain).

Five years ago today I became very short of breath while taking my dog for our morning walk.  Had I not gone to the nearby urgent care facility, I wouldn’t be here today.  My heart attack had apparently occurred 4 days prior, with none of the classic symptoms.  I received 9 stents and spent 5 days in the MICU.

Apparently, one of the effects of even asymptomatic COVID can be myocardial inflammation.  If something doesn’t seem right, please get checked.

Three years ago, while a leader at the National Boy Scout Jamboree, I suffered cardiac arrest. Because of the planning by Medical Staff, including Physicians, Nurses, and EMS Personnel including helicopter support, I received quick treatment and was able to recover with 5 stents in one artery of the heart.  That year (2017), I spent the season off the field. My situation was listed as sudden cardiac arrest, as I had no prior symptoms.  This year in late March, I was hit with Covid and spent one month in the hospital and 14 days on a ventilator due to the pneumonia related to Covid.  While I had some previous heart issues, since Covid I have had to have a pacemaker placed in September, again coming off the field for a season, am able to do clocks.  I agree with the other replies about taking care of yourself and being mindful of your condition. I feel extremely lucky to have survived these two incidents, looking to see what more the Lord has for me.  Prayers of comfort for the family of our brother in Michigan and those who knew and worked with him.

After controlling my problem with medication for a year .....multiple ambulance rides ..... it was time. Cardiologist told me "Ray it's time for a pacemaker." "Does this end football?" "Hell no, it ends ambulance rides and me getting calls all hours of the night."

It's serious stuff guys ...but, once the energizer bunny is installed  ........ Sex is better, like an 18 year old again. Wife happy.
