What's your workload in a typical season?

What's your normal season look like, from a games per season perspective?  I was fortunate this year to have quite a few games assigned to me, overall last year I had 19 UIL games and 15 youth football games; this season I had 39 UIL games and 9 youth football games.  Hopefully as I continue to improve I will get just as, if not more games assigned to me.  (I work from home as a consultant so thankfully I have a lot of flexibility regarding availability, esp with travel being nonexistent for my company for the foreseeable future still.)

What's your typical season/schedule look like, for you, and/or your chapter?

Keeping in mind that I am an auxiliary official (clocks and chains), I worked thirteen games total.

Worked ten games on the clock & three on the chains this year. Could have been more, but obviously due to what is going on out there, some games got cancelled.

Close to what I worked last year, which was sixteen games (Fifteen regular season & a playoff game).

NC has 12 weeks of varsity play.  I use to get maybe one Friday night off per season but those days are gone.  Add in a MS or JV game on Thursday, an odd MS/JV doubleheader too.  I do not work youth FB.  Probably work 25-27 regular season games and average two rounds in the playoffs so 27-29 games total

I usually work 9 regular season varsity games plus 2-5 playoff games. About 12-15 freshman games and maybe 2-4 sophomore games (in Illinois, when we actually have a fall season, Friday nights are a prelim game followed by varsity. Prelim game is most often sophomore. In the Chicago area about 1/3 of the varsity assignments include working the prelim game.) Add another 30-40 youth games, sometimes more. I have totaled close to 100 games in past years but have cut back on youth ball and now work 40-50 total each season. I know of officials who push their total to around 120.

Wow that's a lot of youth football!  We're in a fairly isolated, rural part of the state, so there's simply not that many youth football games (as opposed to major metro areas where you have multiple youth sports leagues and organizations.)

This season was a little lighter than I would usually have, had several Jr. High and JV games have to cancel due to covid related issues, also had 1 varsity game cancel. My total this year was 35 youth games, 10 Jr. high games, 17 JV and 9th grade games, 10 Varsity games and so far 2 playoff games with a few weeks left. So my total is 74 games this season, I would normally have 5-10 games more, I do a lot of games but I am also available everyday of the week, not everyone here in my association has that kind of availability. I have often taken assignments on very short notice that others had to turn back due to work issues.

Toss in special weekend of the Turkey Bowl between Tampa and Pinellas County.

My Favorite announcement. "Ladies and Gentlemen, entering the stadium from the north end zone. The Panama Sharks. That is not Panama City, Florida, that is Panama the country."

It was interesting to hear cadence in Spanish. But more interesting to see the Panama Kids kill the Tampa and Clearwater teams. Seldom do you see youth football teams well trained and disciplined. Bone jarring tackles ....Clearwater finally surrendered when behind 42-0 and tackle was made breaking the receiver's leg .....

I'd say on average, 30-40 SV, 10-14 Var, 8-9 NCAA (7 D3 NAIA, 1 D2) games for me. That's the real football, I also do 7-7 in the summer which I usually end up with like 4 tournaments which have about 5-6 games each. Then we do the two state tournaments which are absolute marathons. I think like 9 games a day for 6 total days.
