Helmets

Is there a rule that prohibits a team from having more than one helmet color?  For example, can a couple of players wear a solid red colored helmet while the remainder of the team players wear a solid blue colored helmet? It seems the intention of the rule is to have a team all wear the same color helmet, but it isn't specifically stated.  Thank you in advance.

The general rule of thumb is that whatever is not expressly forbidden by rule is allowed..

Teams change colors, run out of certain sizes, aren't able to get a size in a certain color, borrow helmets from other schools in the system.  There is a myriad of reasons why this may be so.  Considering this a foul is not a road to travel.

There is no rule that states that a team's uniforms must be, well, uniform.

The visiting teams jerseys must be dominantly white (which exacting specifications in the rules) and the home teams jerseys must clearly contrast to white. Other than that, anything is legal.

Half the visiting team can wear white jerseys with yellow stripes and blue helmets, and the other half have green stripes and purple helmets. The home team can have a whole rainbow assortment of jerseys, pants and helmets -- just not white jerseys.
