Prayers please
« on: August 01, 2022, 09:38:00 AM »
Please keep Gary McGriff and his family in your prayers.  His father passed away yesterday morning.

For those of you who don't know Gary, he is probably the father of officiating discussion boards.  Most of us old guys got our start on his forum many, many years ago.  He's been a great official and friend of the officiating community for multiple decades.

Way back in 1994 I started umping Little League.  My dad cobbled together a PC for me a year or two later.  First I discovered the old alt.sport.officiating newsgroups and then McGriff's.  It was very helpful to me in those early years.

My condolences to him and his family.

Us in "the old guard" owe much to Gary's efforts in Internet officiating discussion (I personally would not be nowhere near as good an official without the help from you all during all these years). My condolences to Gary and his family.
