CHALLENGE
The first to report a VARSITY HEAD COACH - when asked during your pre-game conference with him for your first 2022 varsity game - that didn't know anything about the new blocking below the waist rules wins.

"Wins what?" you ask. Well, that would be the satisfaction of being the first to report such an incident, which, I suspect, will be more than one.

So, everybody that gets that reaction, please report here. I am very curious. We are all very curious.

My monopoly money says it's a 1st year 6-man coach.

And a rotten egg to the official who decides to give a coach a warning when he comes onto the field protesting a call instead of putting a flag down the first time.  The time for warnings is gone.

So what's funny (to me, but not really) is doing a game last night where there was a BBW committed by the defense against a lead blocker on a sweep play across the field from me that was not called.  The cut block occurred outside the tackle box, not that that matters here, but out while the sweep play progressed.  I think you can visualize what I'm trying to explain.

Anyway, shortly after during a timeout I got with the crew to ask if any of them say the cut and the response from two of the officials was "yes, I saw it but it was committed by the defensive player and not the offensive player."  After my own internal eye roll I asked them if they checked out this year's rule update and they both said yes and gave their argument.  I simply left it with "I encourage you to double check your interpretation of this year's rule".
