Certainly like the concept.
But, even if the goal is get folks to make rulings based on full-speed action, the video simply must be MUCH larger.

In the ‘prototype’ down offered, such inconclusive action can, and certainly should, be presented. But, IMHO, we should focus on action that reinforces rule and philosophy knowledge, with action that is clearly recognizable. Judgment can certainly be an element. But, we’d be better served to show action that is reasonably clear. We should not try to ‘trip people up.’ Let’s show examples of procedural rules, and rules regarding the ball. When we show action that requires significant judgment, let’s make sure the action is very visible, and includes all relevant action. E.g., if we want to show a preferred ‘no call’ for a holding action, let’s be sure we can see the location and disposition of the ball carrier, and the neutral zone, as well as the actual suspect holding action.
In the ‘prototype’ down offered, we can’t see the ball, and the cameras views offered don’t provide a realistic ‘officiating’ look at the contact between the Team A player on the Team B receiver. We can easily judge KCI, but we just don’t get a good look at the contact, to rule on possible targeting. If one of the answer options had been, “Illegal non-flagrant contact to the head-neck area of the receiver, number (nn), kicking team, 15 yard penalty, 1st down, receiving team,” then we would have known that that this type of non-flagrant head/neck foul is an option to be considered. Then, based on the inconclusiveness of the video, that option would be reasonable.

Looking forward to seeing how this develops. Good initiative.

Agree with Elvis.  Really like the concept, and even though it loops, maybe direct specifically where we should be looking - in this example, knowing that what we are concerned with, is the action on the returner, is helpful, instead of scouring the video looking for other fouls.  This one is pretty obvious but oftentimes they are not.  It's a pet peeve of mine when someone posts a play on Facebook and asks 'Is this is a foul' without directing us to the action in question, and I have to watch it multiple times, to finally figure out what what specifically they are asking about.

For the specific example above - given the views given, that certainly looks like targeting to me.  Would like to see clear explanations of why an answer is incorrect, with rule references.

Agree with Elvis and Bobby, and also really like this - I've been toying with something like this for our yearly rules test but am too lazy and do not have good quality video...

Could the questions be in the format of "You are the back judge. What in your opinion would be the next succeeding spot?" Also for learning purposes it would be nice to have at least a short description of why a particular wrong answer is wrong.

Just semantics, but looking at it another way, an explanation of why the correct answer is correct.

And that may be how it has to be set up.  Not sure I can add explanations to the correct answer.  Might need to put the rule cites in the actual answer selection screen. There is a time limit on question so not like someone could spend a lot of time looking it up before answering

It will be easy to use highlighting in the video to direct attention to an area.   Thanks.

The challenge is real when trying to look at video on a smartphone , especially for those using iPhone 5’s like Elvis 😂.   I can use video zooming to make parts of the video larger before uploading.    I’ll give that a shot.   Thanks

Well, how will this be implemented? Just one video question at a time? Or multiple? Once per day/week/month? In the answer screen, after the rule/AR references, could you provide a link to a full explanation? Even with a daily question(s), it doesn’t seem to difficult to do that. The questions/answer and explanations could be made available until the next scheduled publishing of a new question/set of questions.
Rule references/ARs by themselves just aren’t enough for many situations.

And, by the way, its an iPhone 8. 📞 😀  But, I use my iPad Air four these kinds of things. Plenty big for watching any game video, if the video is full-screen, or near.
