108 pages worth of comments...is that a record?
« on: April 10, 2023, 09:39:42 AM »
The NFHS rule changes thread has 108 pages of comments. Record? Its gotta be. I have not followed that at all, so I don't know what is worth so much conversation (don't wanna know, since I'm not involved, and my brain ain't big enough to keep different rule sets in there). Just awestruck by 108 pages worth of comments.

Did you by chance mistake the thread page count to the post page count? The NFHS forum has 108 pages of threads, and I think the rules change thread has "only" nine pages of posts.

And no, I'm not going to try to find out what is the post with the most replies to it :)

I'm the guilty party for that topic, with the new rules and many discussions branching off of that. The *123456....9" , I think, indicates we've yapped/typed for 9 pages not 109. Unsure if the current 201 posts is a record, but usually the new rules generates many opinions each year. It seems that the topic of " Should one wear sunglasses under Friday night lights?" once drew many posts!

Forgive me for being old and feeble. May I move to Hawaii, please? 8]

It's actually pretty easy to find that.  You can check out the board stats and see the top 10 of a few different things:

The Rule Change thread currently ranks 5th in topics by replies.

I wasn't trying or thinking of setting a record number of posts on a topic, but 449 , with the new rules topic at 203 certainly would prove to be a tough hill to climb. I've been told that everything is bigger in Texas, and 449 posts on topic of "UIL or TASO' certainly proves that. Thanks, Grant, for providing us with the Refstripes scoreboard!

One of the many "memorable quotes" my mother left me with was, "An idle mind is the devil's workshop".  I suspect the Devil works long hours after each football season ends, and winter sets in.
