Fake punt

Has anyone had this fake punt in a game. Seems it's been a round a long time but I've never seen it. Pretty good fake punt and even if the receiver doesn't catch I'd think there would be high chance of DPI on the play.

Check your rules. Do you not have a provision that exempts DPI when, from a formation that would appear to be a punt, the 'kicker' actually throws a high and deep pass that simulates a kick? If not, you should.

Not in Fed.

Pass interference rules in the Fed book always irk me. It feels like there's a missing section and nothing is really fully defined anywhere. I mean, it is, but it's very vague.

I agree. Uncatchable pass does not exist as a mitigating criterion either under NFHS rules. That means that, by rule, calling DPI on an uncatchable pass is correct in a high school game.
