Turf shoes
« on: June 16, 2025, 02:06:35 PM »
I've been wearing baseball turf shoes for football officiating on turf fields. The little nubs on the turf shoes give good traction. I recently saw on TV a D1 baseball umpire wear black On shoes while umpiring. Has anyone worn either Hoka or On shoes while officiating football?

I wear Hokas while running outside of football, but wasn't sure if either one is good for the start/stop motion while officiating football.

Thanks in advance.

The best shoes I've found are Nike Zegama trail running shoes, specifically the 1st gen (I think they're on 2nd gen now, and look/fit different.) They have a vibram outsole that is super grippy regardless of grass or turf, wet or dry.  They are pricey though but worth the cost to me.
