Apple Watch tracking on field distance
« on: June 25, 2025, 09:19:02 PM »
I got myself an Apple Watch for Christmas, and this will be my first year using it on the field.  I’ve got a Ready Ref for the play clock, so I don’t need any of the 40/25 apps out there.  But I do wonder how I’d best track my distance and time on the field using it.  Up through last season I had a Garmin that I’d track as “walking”.

Also, can anyone recommend a good app to track the game clock, or is the default Timers app a good choice?

I use the Back Judge app and I am very pleased.

I just turn on my Pedometer on the watch as I leave the locker room and hit it again when I get back in.

The timer can work fine for a game clock. Gonna check out the Back Judge app, tho. Right now I just use 40/25.

Back Judge app works great; you can also select American Football on the Workout app on your watch too.
