Between joining me on selected football officiating trips and attending WWF/WWE events during the 90’s/early 2000’s, my son and I ‘bonded’ during those times, with those events. Along with the other WWF/WWE characters, Hulk played a big part of our bonding times. May he rest in peace.

As a teen in the late 80s, he provided lots of great entertainment.  I haven't watched wrestling in a loooong time, but it was fun back when it was him, Andre the Giant, Ric Flair, Rowdy Roddy Piper, Ted DiBiase, etc.

A quick football story related to wrestling...my very first college game was Milsaps College vs Mississippi College in Jackson, MS in 2002.  They played every year in the old Memorial Stadium in Jackson.  As a side judge, I brought the captains out for Milsaps.  The one that was doing the talking was Ted DiBiase, Jr.  If I hadn't been a rookie and a nervous wreck, I would have asked him if he had any wrestling moves planned for the competition.   :)

I've always heard that celebrity deaths happen in threes.  Rest in peace for the most recent set:

Malcolm Jamal Warner
Ozzy Osborne (John Michael Osbourne)
Hulk Hogan (Terry Bollea)

Don’t forget Connie Francis. Way back in her prime, the Fort Lauderdale Sheriff’s office would hang a sign outside the jail during Spring Break reading “Where The Boys Are”. Or, so my memory tells me.  Either way, it makes a great story whenever that song plays. RIP

My favorite was Stupid Cupid. Very snappy tune, and her voice was perfect for it. That was back when singers really knew how to sing. Miss those days.
