Gainesville vs Buford in Georgia

I'm watching this game on TV and notice many players having mouth pieces dangling from their face masks during game action. I even saw a backup QB come into the game with a clear mouthpiece in his face mask awaiting the snap. What's up with all that?

They might have another in their mouth and the dangler is for decoration.  Louisiana outlawed that last year.  One mouthpiece, in your mouth...   ;D

This was a FED change last year. (1-5-1-5a)  That said, I know first-hand that some crews working high-profile games in some states are told to ignore “fashion police” violations.

The problem with doing that is the exact reason that NFHS changed the rule to begin with.  This isn't a "fashion police" issue, but a safety issue, and we cannot confirm if multiple players with dangling mouthpieces have a second mouthpiece that's already in their mouth.

game was ok,but fashion show football is a direct disrespect to the game itself.THE RULEBOOK IS THE STANDARD.If a player isnt properly dressed to play,then to the sideline you go.Pregame is for a resaon:COACH,ARE YOUR PLAYERS PROPERLY EQUIPPED TO PLAY? No more discussions after that...mouthpieces are not ornaments

We all should understand, "Stupid is, as Stupid does", but that doesn't mean we should allow "Stupid" to go unchecked.  Mouthpieces have a singular, worthwhile purpose and should be used ONLY for that specific, intended purpose.  Players with "dangling" mouth pieces should be "advised" of their problem, instructed to immediately correct the problem, or leave the playing field (and not return until the problem is corrected.
