Free Kick Mechanics
« on: September 03, 2010, 03:51:10 PM »
I know this is an elemtary question, but just humor me. On KOs, does the F, S, B and U all have goalline responsibility? The CCA manual doesn't seem to be all that clear to me. I am a F and I was always taught that I (and the S) had GL responsibility. However, the CCA manual doesn't mention that at all - rather it mentions that U & B have GL responsibility. I am a rookie this year and in the scrimmages and camps that I have worked at I just don't seem to recall U & B leading the play like F & S.

Not sure about everywhere, but my conference has the U and B head into the field after the ball is kicked and the F and S have the goal line.

If they stayed on the sideline, I would think the U and B have the goal line, but no U is gonna beat me downfield to the GL!!! ;D

If the U and B come on to the field, then its worked like a "normal" scrimamge play it terms of responsibility, with F-S-B getting to the goal line and H-L with progress to the 2 yard line...at least where I am at.
