Touching a player is never a good idea

I was taught never to touch players for any reason.  It seemed a little ridiculous to me to tell a players to get someone else to help them with their chin strap or to pull their shirt back over their pads.  But, I guess in the world we live in, it's best if we all have a no touch policy.  An assualt charge in this situation seems a little excessive, but the writer did not do a very good job of explaining how and why the player was touched.  I guess I'll have to wait for the rest of the story...

An assault charge is not as likely as a lawsuit.  For example, official helps player with buckling his chin strap.  Later, the strap fails and player is seriously injured.  Guess who will probably get sued for not properly fastening the chinstrap?

Any idiot that would call a player back after the game deserves what they get.

This is just too bizarre.  When the game is over, you are done as an official.  Why the heck would he be talking to ANY player after a game... nevermind calling them over and giving the top of the helmet a "pop" with his hand?  Even if the player was cursing out the official after the game, that's something for game administration to deal with not the officials.
