Surely the club Refs are in black and white tops? Surely the league see that as important for people to easily identify where the official is?

Yes of course - striped shirt, black hat with piping, flag, whistle, bean bag and rosary beads.

That poor line judge has to run an obstacle course on the sideline on that first play.
