Another UIL pressure tactic
« on: October 15, 2010, 08:34:20 AM »
Was doing a JH game last night and during a 14 all tie with 4 mins left the AD from the visiting team came onto the sideline and introduced himself and asked if I had registered with UIL. I replied with "Sir I'm in the middle of a game right now. he than stated that the UIL wanted him to asked. I AGAIN replied that I'm in the middle of a game and i would talk with him after the game. I really thought this was VERY unprofessional, and felt pressured. Just wondering if this is happening with anyone else. Should seen the look on his face AFTER the game when myself and one other official told him we had not and our several reasons why.

I had a coach ask me between a score and the kickoff last week. He was down on UIL so that was a good thing.

As far as the UIL wanting to know, heck they have the list. They know that not very many have registered. I agree that this is just another strong arm tactic they are trying to implore.

They must have realized that their list contained 90% fake registrants.  They are going field to field trying to find the 10% real ones.
