State Championship Tickets
« on: October 18, 2010, 01:48:37 PM »
Has anyone checked out the prices for state championship tickets at Cowboys stadium for this year's championship games?  A bit pricey.  They are being sold through ticketmaster.

I wonder how long before UIL does away with gate receipts to calculate officiating pay for these games since they obviously are banking on these being a cash cow.

Saw this on another board.

University Interscholastic League director of athletics Cliff Odenwald announced that the football state championship committee will reconvene. The committee first proposed rotating the Class 5A state championship games between Houston, Dallas and San Antonio ? the three cities with domed stadiums. Now that all state championship football games are central site games, the needs of the host stadium have changed.

“Now with additional games, Houston is not a viable option,” Odenwald said.

Odenwald said the committee will look at removing the “domed stadium” requirement as well as looking at multiple sites.

So that should be considered part of the gates receipts, right?  Ha, I doubt it.

So exactly what would be the UIL's official rationale in making Houston obsolete in the rotation? Definitely makes one think!   z^

Kind of like saying Austin was not eligible for playoffs or UIL assignments!!!!!

But not them, they would not be vindictive..................

And those "Oh, so affordable" ticket prices for the big games, not to even mention the parking! Now I guess that's for "the good of the kids" too!   z^

Because the field is natural grass and would not stand up to so many games.
