Ladies and Gentlemen of Officiating: While the 2010 Thanksgiving meal is in the oven and cooking, I want to take time to wish this Thanksgiving Prayer for you and yours: No matter what your political persuasion or your officiating allegiance is, here's wishing you and yours a most joyous Thanksgiving hopefully spent happily with your family, relatives, and friends. It is truly time to reflect on all the rich blessings that our Heavenly Father has seen fit to bestow upon us and should in some way help us to reflect on what it is that we can do to repay Him for all of His love, mercy, and kindness in some small measure! While reflecting on our blessings, let's be mindful to pray and care for those of us who are serving in a military capacity and who cannot be able to be with their family over this holiday period. And let's also pray for those who are economically less fortunate than we are and offer help to those truly in need, for that is the way that our Lord and Saviour truly deemed it to be!
Please be careful out there this weekend on the highways if you have to travel, and if you haven't told someone lately that you care about them and love them, there is no better or proper time than the present! For those that have to travel on the roads to officiate this weekend, I wish you a safe journey to your game site, and an even safer journey back home to your loved ones!
This I humbly pray in our Saviour's Most Holy Name. Amen.
