"Livin' in the pit", be careful how you talk about officials. I would dare say that you were sitting at home this weekend while this mystery official was working. Must be doing something right.

Canadian ball finished a month ago at all levels, my friend ...

... too cold. :)

It is obvious tha the is cold.. However there is no way he can blow a whistle with that mask covering his face, including his mouth. I don't even think he has a whistle on him. I don't see it hanging from his shirt, see it on his hand, and there is no way he has it in his mouth.

Forget the whistle -- how's he gonna get a  sNiCkErS in his mouth?

Our U's rarely, if ever, use their whistle.  They let us wingman do that while they're standing over the pile and talking, "Easy up, guys. Use the ground, not another body, to push up from."

Chill Out AZTX Official.  We're not slamming anyone, just making light of the bundled up Umpire, truth be told any of us sitting at home would have switched spot with him if given the assignment.

Thats what happens when you get a Texas official and send them to Minnesota. Durwood Manley from Ft Worth, Texas.

That's pretty sorry...especially from officials.  It is amazing how officials can be so ugly to one another. Some of you guys (not all) that slam other officials from your "You Tube" Ivory Towers should be ashamed. While learning from others mistakes is a great teaching method, slamming and berating fellow officials is unacceptable. We should be happy for those that are selected to work National TV Games, Playoffs and Bowl Assignments rather than roast them with unacceptable comments like some are doing.

My good friend Mr Wikipedia has a description of something that you might want to check out.

Quote
A joke is a question, short story, or depiction of a situation made with the intent of being humorous. To achieve this end, jokes may employ irony, sarcasm, word play and other devices. Jokes may have a punchline that will end the sentence to make it humorous.

You may wish to read more about the concept, it's very interesting.

I'm sorry, I wasn't aware that I was writing an academic paper about the history of jokes.

Maybe he's a superhero, and trying to hide his secret identity.  "Dah-dah!  It's UMPIRE MAN!  More powerful than a back judge!  Able to eat piles of Snickers in a single game!"

Heck I saw and was an official in Amarillo, bundled like that on several occasions. We did a HS district game in Canyon, TX one night with the wind chill at -17. We had on everything we could put on and then some. We looked like Michelin Men more than officials.

When it is cold you do what you gotta do.

@bama - Too Funny.

Also, our umpire rarely blows his whistle also but if he has a false start on his keys G-C-G or an illegal snap he is to blow his whistle and kill the play. After that our umpire is not going to blow his whistle.
