Tom Beard's Football Officials Clinic (TBFOC) 2011
« on: December 27, 2010, 09:18:48 PM »
Fellow Officials,

Registration is NOW OPEN for the 4th Annual Tom Beard's Football Official's Clinic (TBFOC). The clinic is scheduled for March 18-19, 2011. It will be held at Morgan State University in Baltimore, MD. For more information and to register, please visit www.tbfoc.org/clinic.html. The clinic sold out last year and we expect the same for 2011. We encourage you to register as soon as possible.

Adhering to our founder’s mantra of Attitude, Commitment, Dependability, and Dedication, we seek to improve each clinic experience; hence we have thoroughly analyzed feedback from our clinicians, special guests, and most importantly, you, our clinic attendees! As we each prepare for our 4th Annual Clinic, the TBFOC Staff the staff proudly announces the following clinic tidbits:

  • The Clinic is now hosted by Morgan State University (MSU) in Baltimore, MD. The facilities at MSU are top-notch and provide you with a comfortable environment that will be conducive to our group and breakout sessions. Bowie State University (BSU) will be one of our scrimmage hosts and post-scrimmage wrap-up locations. BSU now has field turf and they also provide top-notch facilities.
  • We plan to switch to a conference style agenda. So, you can choose the breakouts of your preference. Session Leaders and Topics will be announced as they are confirmed. Rest assured we will cover a wide range of topics for all levels of officiating experience with some of the best minds football officiating has to offer.
  • There will still be two registration options, (1) On-field with Class $350 and (2) Classroom Only $250. For those choosing Classroom Only, you will have the option of mirroring clinicians during the scrimmages to hear feedback or you can select various classroom options.
  • Field participants will be broken down into crews (including those selecting Classroom Only). Crew requests will be honored to the maximum extent possible; but are not guaranteed.
  • You will continue to have access to our long list of experienced clinicians, special guests, and staff in various settings during breaks, lunch, evening social, and much more. What better opportunities to pick the brains of the best talent in football officiating anywhere in the world! Please scroll down for our list of clinicians. We're sure you'll be impressed.

The TBFOC Staff thanks you for your continued interested in improving your officiating skills and we look forward to serving you, our 2011 clinic participant.

Yours in officiating,
The TBFOC Staff

Is this a clinic designed for HS officials, or for college (either current or those looking to move up)?

I don't think I can swing this year's, but I'll definitely try to make it in 2012.  Thanks, Wing!

This is an outstanding clinic. Best one I have attended, so far. I have only been to a few different ones but I am expanding my radius to attend the CFO clinic as well as the Salem Virginia clinic this year and the Fresno clinic next year.

With the clinic being switched to Morgan State it will be an improvement. When it was at Howard those streets, on campus, were two way streets but they were only wide enough for one car, there were no signage to registration or anywhere, and the clinic outgrew the classrooms with the size of the breakout sessions. The clinicians are top notch.

Only down fall if I had to pick something is - I just wish the people that put together the clinic were more casual, outgoing, and friendly with the attendees. They seemed to only talk amongst themselves and the clinicians or speakers.

With that being said I do plan on attending again this year.

Grant,

The professionalism at which the clinicians and speakers conduct themselves. They are highly knowledgeable and are outstanding speakers. They would actually motivate you right there in the room.
The information and material, all material is top notch and is to both help you improve on the field and also help you progress. Also you got a DVD of all material that was covered in the clinic to take home.
The atmosphere, it was a professional atmosphere that said OK guys we are going to here learn as much as we can to help you improve or advance. Whichever you are here for.

Disclaimer: I have only been to a handful of clinic/camps here on the East Coast and I can only speak on my experience. I am widening my horizons for clinics/camps so I can attend some great clinics/camps.
