Kickoff Out of Bounds
« on: December 30, 2010, 04:07:11 PM »
Kickoff from the A-40 goes out of bounds untouched between the B goal line and the B-24.  Is there any reason for the flag to be at the out of bounds spot or the official to stand at the out of bounds spot before a decision is made.  In other words, does the out of bounds spot inside the B-25 carry any significance?

None I can envision but maybe there's some crazy coach out there that wants it 5 yards from where it went out.

I see your point but I think for consistency we should treat all flags and spots the same.

They could decline and take it at the spot it went out of bounds.... no logical person would do that, but....

If I substitute the word coach for person, does the sentence still read the same?   ;D
