You find the coin toss stressful do ya DM ?
At our state meeting (Texas) I bought a new flipping coin. It is in color and one side has the outline of the State of Texas with the flag overlayed and on the other it has an American Eagle in colorI always show the coin to both captains and tell them : This side is "Texas" this side is "Eagle"Guess what 4 captains called.........................................Yeah, tails
Our association has a custom coin of a player in position to snap the ball. The heads side is a picture of him from the front; the tails side, his other end."Captain, I have out coin here. This side is heads, and I think you can recognize what this side is."
Not as stressful as the time I decided to let the silver dollar I used fall to the turf...which was the original astroturf and I watched it roll about 15 feet away. after I picked it up to show which side it landed on...I couldn't remember what the visitor called....how embarrassing....good thing my umpire remembered....
I announce to all captains the call made by the visiting captain so everyone is on the same page and the call cannot be recanted.
...the Phil Luckett rule.
Also known as the "Jerome Bettis is a liar rule". I always make a point to ask the captain what his choice is before flipping.
