I dont have anything.  It could easily be viewed as sticking the ball out to get more forward progress and / or cross the goal line before someone rips it out, which they did.

I agree 100%!  This is nothing as he is not sticking the ball in the face of an opponent!

Not sure as I am not an NCAA official.  Could the holding the ball out be construed taunting?  What about the imaginary championship belt being excessive celebration?  Both of these in Fed rules are unsportsmanlike conduct.

We do not use the term "excessive celebration" in NCAA.  The imaginary championship belt is spontaneous and not prolonged.  we must remember this game is supposed to be fun...

This isn't even close to a foul.  Big Ben did the same thing going into the end zone in the next game.  It's a player reaching the ball out to get it over the goal line.

Reaching it BACKWARD like you are waving it at the defense - THAT'S taunting.  This is reaching the ball out across the plane (dangerously).

While thinking to himself "Holy S&*t, I think I'm going to score a TD!!".  I'd agree, he's reaching it forward, away from the nearest defender, not even close to taunting territory.

Holding the ball in front of him crossing the goal line would not draw my Flag, but the little dance, or whatever that was, most certainly would draw an USC flag, under NFHS rules.

The only thing is, he does not hold the ball out in front as he gets within a yard of the EZ in order to get the ball across, he does it starting at the 10 yard line. I think this is getting to the gray area we talking about for when is it taunting/drawing attention to himself, and when he is trying to get the TD. If that defender is not there at all, we have a flag, with him there, we have some debate. My question for you is when have you seen a guy trying to get the TD at the pylon start extending the ball at the 10 yard line? Not exactly a fast way to run.

Especially when you are "run challenged" as that hog clearly is. 

If even Al does not see this as Uns Conduct (the ball part, not the end zone dance part), then I am going to have to rethink this.  My initial reaction when I saw the play live was that he was showing off.

I have no doubt this idiot was showing off, but I just am not ready to draw the line for a flag that far down the pole.  As bad as I believe "one size fits all" thinking is, it's not nearly as stupid as "zero tolerance" usually turns out to be.  If someone did decide to flag it, I might shake my head a little, but I'd place the responsibility solely on the player's shoulders.

I thought his sprinter training came to the fore.  He kept his center of gravity, large as it is, slightly ahead of his feet, stayed on the balls of his feet and accelerated thru the finish line.

When he is 340lbs, has never had his hands on a football in an NFL game, and has NO idea of what he's doing!

Perhaps not but Mike us dumb linemen don't know what to do with a football once we get it in our hands.  I'm half surprised he didn't stick it in his pants.

devil's advocate...how can something be "spontaneous" when GB does it virtually every game???
