Honig's NCAA shirt
« on: August 27, 2011, 09:48:09 PM »
Just arrived.  Noticed a stitched opening similar to a button hole  parallel to the right side seam several inches from the bottom hem and slightly to the rear of the seam.  What is this used for?????

I have used it to string the mic inside the shirt from the beltpack for the TV microphone. Disclaimer: I run audio for TV I don't do NCAA games.  :)

The discrimination against folks that prefer to carry the mic switch on their left side is repugnant.  ;D

Besides, their button hole is so frickin' small - hard to get the mic through it. Some folks get a much larger button hole sewn into the side seam (left or right). Some folks get a large button hole sewn into the waist band of their pants for the same reason. It also lets those folks push the excess cable from switch to the transmitter through that waist band button hole, inside the pants, to conceal it.

Unplug the cable and put that end through the hole and then plug it back in - the plug end is much smaller than the mic end.

That is the usual method, but the Honig's hole is still on the wrong side. Still like a larger 'passage' (started to say 'hole' but I could see the wise cracks coming...).

Be careful what you wish for Welpe!  My R just up and left us for another woman (I think her name is Irene).  My shiny new white hat from Honigs will be here tomorrow and my first gig is at a place that has a mic!

You'll do fine! If all else fails, "forget" to turn the mic on. ;)

Make sure your umpire has you facing the right direction and all will be fine.  :thumbup
