10 sec substraction
« on: September 12, 2011, 08:18:12 AM »
We have a probleme with this enforcement, if during the last minute of etheir half a foul stop the clock the 10 sec substraction applies but we have two or three option:
take the penality and applies the 10 sec substraction
decline the penality and the 10 sec are canceled by the rules
take the 10 sec substraction and decline the penality
If rest no more 10 sec in the end of the half, the half is extended for the enforcement or only the 10 sec substraction applies and the game is over??

There are only two options in this situation:
  • Accept the yardage penalty and 10-second subtraction
  • Accept the yardage penalty but decline the 10-second subtraction
If the offended team declines the yardage, the 10-second subtraction is declined by rule.

If there are 10 seconds or less remaining on the clock, the half or game is over.

Thank you very much for your answer Grant.
Sorry but I would like a clarification with regard to BBW. A receiver positioned 10 yards to the right of the center is allowed to BBW on north south line direction and on his sideline (right sideline) direction. If after the snap he goes to the left of the formation he must BBW on the same direction or he must BBW on a left sideline direction??

If he is positioned 10 yards to the right of the center, he must block towards his sideline (or north-south) for the entire play.  If he goes all the way across the field to the left sideline, he still must block back to the right.
