Double Foul Play
« on: October 12, 2011, 04:04:14 PM »
Just started doing some WH in sub varsity games. Here's a play from last week. I believe I got it right but I thought I would post it for the group.

2nd quarter. A's ball 1 and 10 from the B45. A1 drops back and throws a pass to A85 at the B30. A85 advances the ball into the end zone. B55 is flagged for roughing the passer during the pass. A87 is flagged for holding after the catch. Time expires during the play.

What's your ruling?

Double foul.  The penalties cancel and the down is replayed.  Period is extended.

Thanks for the replies. I got it right and we replayed the down. The next day I asked my varsity crew chief about it and he told me that we didn't need to extend the period for the play. Glad I got it right. I sure we will talk about during the pregame this Friday.

Beware of "Varsity Crew Chiefs" bearing misinformation.....but tread gently

Be prepared with Rules 3-3-3a and b; and 3-3-4

Not worried about it. My crew chief is great. He is the first to admit that he sometimes gets it wrong. Our whole goal as a crew is to make sure we get it right. We try to keep egos out of it.
