Time Outs - This Year

Now that timeouts were further defined this year that most every timeout I see this year have been that of the sideline-type.
Is this the same round other parts or just mine?

Primarily have been sideline conferences but I have  seen at least one coach come to the middle to speak with his defense.  The offense has always gone to the sideline that I recall.

Our games have been pretty even, half sidelines, half between hashes.
