another rules question

Punted ball hits member of the receiving team in the ankle.... Team that punted scooped up the ball and ran it into the endzone... Can a muff be advanced in a high school game?

It has nothing to do with it being a muff. Under NFHS rules no kick beyond the neutral zone can be advanced by K. This is an important distinction because it applies to both free kicks and scrimmage kicks.

K's ball at spot of recovery.  Some times it takes a few seconds for the gears to start turning on this one followed by crew discussion to make sure everything is done correctly.

Kick plays are the bugaboo of officiating.  My few experiences at BJ have led me to feel as if my rear end is hanging out of my knick...er uh pants.
