I thought that on first glance but it's 2 and 2 (wedges, yes, but legal) and one breaks off near the other 2 but he doesn't end up on the same yardline and it's over pretty quickly. IMHO, would be a VERY technical call, if made. Don't kick the sleepin' dog...

I have yet to see running away with one's back to the play as an approved mechanic. Love to be a fly on the wall in the post-game eval on this one.

An unusual technique - especially for an U.  One has to wonder how he handles a draw play on a scrimmage down with the tail back running directly at him. 

I think he is a bit too far upfield.  Perhaps being in a bowl game resulted in an adrenaline rush on the opening kickoff.
