End of the BH Bowl

Would love to see a video of the last play for BYU.  Seems to me that fake spiking the ball is not allowed.

Faking a kneel down is not allowed but nothing against the fake spike.

Seems like the intent of the rule would cover both types of deception.  Plus most things BYU does is illegal.  Oops my Wyoming roots showing.....

Well faking the kneel down is not a foul, just an act that causes the ball to become dead.  A spike will not automatically become dead, i.e. it could hit a foot or leg and go up in the air, ball still live.

And finally, that was not even a half decent fake spike.  Only a few Team B players seemed to let up.

What would you do to the runner who acts like he is going to run OOB but then turns it up at the last millisecond and tightropes the sideline?  Call that dead?

It's just another type of "pump fake".

Exactly.  And #19, the DB who got beat, wasn't one of them.

Fake spikes... Ugh.

I hadn't had an IW since my first year, but had one last season on a fake spike.

Put me in the "make this illegal" column.   ;D
