Have come to this thread rather late, but I've one or two comments and questions...
R - don't blow the ball in if you and your crew are not ready. If a team are running a hurry up, then you do your best to keep up but not at the risk of being unprepared for the next play.
You are clearly not ready as you are still moving backward into your position at the snap.
Your U doesn't look to be quite ready as he is still moving to where he wants to be as the ball is snapped.
Having said that, despite being on the back foot at the snap, the R shows nice lateral movement tracking the run. Looking at his head he seems to be looking where we might want him to be looking. And he is looking in the right area to see the questionable block.
U - I dont do much Umpiring myself, but should the U end up deeper downfield than this 10yd gain?
HL - reads pass and moves 5yds downfield (which if Sweden use European mechs is the correct behaviour) although he appears to cross his feet and turn his body rather than shuffling side to side. Once he realises it is a run, he moves further downfield. Is he doing his clean up responsibility or maybe ball watching too much?
LJ - appears to have "Happy Feet"? The play develops looking like a pass, so on a 7 man crew, the LJ has NZ responsibilities. While the QB is still behind the NZ, the LJ takes a couple of steps downfield - why? If it still is to be a pass, then this scrambling QB may make that pass from close to the NZ, the LJ needs to be there. If the QB keeps the ball and runs (as he eventually does), then the LJ stays at the NZ until the runner passes the NZ and follows up from behind. LJ has to step back again to let the runner past him. But he does see the questionable block.
As mentioned earlier in the thread, timeout signal and face out when you get the spot. You probably have a good spot but you're not making it look like you have it. Where you letting the fact that you had a flag distract you from fundamentals? Soemtimes I see officials leave a spot or not bother getting it properly because they have a flag.
FJ is hardly in camera shot, but when he does appear he is coming back from deeper than his initial position so we can assume he'd initially dropped back correctly. Then he shows some nice deadball officiating hustle to quickly get into the bench area to retrieve the runner from "enemy" territory which job he needs to complete as El Macman said rather than worrying about the football.
SJ does he need to stay tied to his sideline throughout this play?
What about the position of the BJ at the end of this running play? His initial position looks fine, but when he comes into camera shot at the conclusion of the film, he has dropped back another 10yds and only moved laterally a few yards. I might've expected him to have slid over more toward this sideline by the time we see him?
