Sitting Out
« on: July 23, 2013, 12:31:32 PM »
Well fellas, I have to sit out this season.  I was in an auto accident in late Spring & went to my Ortho today & she thinks it's best I do not work this season.

Stay involved. Observe, evaluate, work with the young guys. You can still contribute!

Bummer, TS.  Like Rulesman said, stay involved.

We've lost several officials to retirement, defection, and even a severe motorcycle accident this off-season.  Its going to be "next man up" for the "younglings".

My own cut back is looming- my son will be a freshman this fall and has begun JV workouts.  I've asked for a MS schedule on Thursdays this season so I can leave from there and head to wherever he's playing.

I hope you recover quickly and are able to re-join your group ASAP.

Hope you recover quickly! Stay active, rehab aggressively.

My BJ is having brain surgery Friday to remove a benign tumor, and will miss the first 2 weeks of the season.

Hang in there, Steve.  As the others have said, there are plenty of young guys who can still benefit from the experience of a veteran like yourself.  Even working a clock (a) keeps you involved, and (b) gives the young guys a chance to pick up some knowledge.

Wishing you a quick recovery, Steve. Hope you feel up to staying active in the game via mentoring the rookies, running the clock, working the chains or the like. Enjoy your posts on the forum and hope they continue :).
