LFL (Legends or Lingerie Football League)

Hi all:

I am the Pres. of our local Football Officials Assoc. here in Calgary Canada. I was contacted by
the LFL asking if we would officiate their games here in Calgary (new team). We were asked last week
for a game a week from tomorrow. The rules are arena league rules with some tweaks thrown in- total foreign to our Canadian Amateur rules ( and different from your NCAA & High school rules as well!)
Just wondering if any of you have any experience with this league- this seems like kind of short notice
for them to be looking for officials. ( Not to mention for our guys to learn a whole new code in 1 week!) They were a bit vague when I asked them about insurance & security arrangements as well. Apparently in some cities they get officials to freelance outside their local Associations?
We turned them down for this year but was thinking about next season...

I recall a directive from our higher-ups out here not to touch that league with a bargepole, due to insurance issues.

If the L in LFL is the later, I'd insist on random uniform checks like the NFL!

I never worked them, but had friends down here in Tx who did. They never really had any major complaints. They dont pay well, the girls arent really what you'd think in a football league with lingere,m and its hard to get chain crews. Other than that, I dont remember any horror stories

The league in Texas is not the LFL.  Just a clone like all the indoor leagues around the country are not the AFL.
