Under which code of rules?  NFHS, NCAA or NFL?

NFHS 9-4-6 states: "A defensive player shall not charge directly into the snapper when the offensive team is in a scrimmage-kick formation."

There is no restriction on where he lines up, but it will likely make the umpire a bit nervous.

NCAA  rules and TX HS basically the same.

Umpire will likely be reminding him all night to lay off the center

At least, if the umpire is worth a darn, and has the  sNiCkErS out of his mouth, he will.

Regarding the NFL rule on this type of scenario...does anyone have an interpretation on the foul called against Dallas in their preseason game with Miami last Saturday? They were flagged for "lining up over the center" on a scrimmage kick. Taking out the appearance that it didnt really look like anyone was actually lined up right in front of their snapper(two players appeared to be on either side, but if the official decided they were then ok), but what is the interpretation on when to call that? Neither of the players on the receiving team touched the snapper, he wasnt threatened, and it didnt appear any advantage was gained. Seemed like a bit of a ticky tack call IMO.
