overtime score question

I'm inputting scores into the bracket, and I have a question on one... on the UIL bracket online, it has this:

Georgetown 48
Burleson Centennial 42 (2OT)

Friday Night Football app has the same score... How can you have a 5-point differential in an overtime game? Am I having a brain fart or is that not possible?

48-42 is a 6 point spread.

Oh dear, . Yeah the cloud is cloud is lifting, now.  kindergarten math is hard, apparently.

Yeah I'm telling you it's been a day so far, working on the spreadsheet. last week and through Tues are by far the busiest due to the sheer volume of scores and assignments.

First team kicks a field goal.  2nd team screws up really bad and manages to give up a safety.

Apes score a TD in first possession, then suffer an embarrassing 1 point safety on the try. Then the Bears fail to score in their possession series.

And a really "want to see that happen": First team scores a TD and a one point extra point. On the second possession series the second team scores a safety.
