Cliff Keen and Gerry Davis pants are also lighter...just in case Honigs does not have enough by the time the season hits.

Received an email from them saying that they will have them at the state meeting too.  Already got a pair from Gerry Davis that are very light weight, plus are adjustable so you can layer.  Will look Honig's and make a comparison before I buy them.

I'd probably wear the light weight ones all the time, even in cold weather. It takes a lot for me to be cold, and if my hands and feet are warm, I'm not going to notice.

My thoughts exactly, but they are running a sale on the heavier weight version, so now might be a good time to snag a pair at a good price.

I heard theirs (Gerry Davis) were really large in the legs and had to be tailored in order to look good.  True?

They might have to on your non-umpire like bean pole legs but on those tree trunks of beaye they will not.

Just got my all weather pants from Honigs, and my legs swim in those also.  Probably some waist to pant leg width algorithm all manufacturers use.  All it takes is more money to make them right.....

My money is on laziness.  When they decided to make the lightweight pants they just took the existing version's measurements and manufactured on that. The existing pants were made with the thought guys would be wearing stuff underneath most of the time

I got my pair of GD's last week. They are loose in the legs (and I have big legs). Haven't decided yet whether I will have them altered or just wear them as they are. They are very comfortable and I think they are light enough to use in hot weather. I will wait to see how "light" the Honig's hot weather version is before purchasing a second pair.

Why did this thread get moved? Texas approved these pants for wear in 2011.

Why is it I can go and buy a pair of sweats that fit relatively decently, sized S,M, L, XL, whatever, and wear them right off the shelf but these pants show up and need tailoring about 7 different ways to get the same fit??

I moved it because I thought it could be beneficial to the folks outside of Texas too.  And, most people outside of Texas don't read the "Texas forum."

I talked to a Honig's rep today.  He said the light-weight pants will be ready in June.
