Correct Enforcement?

The foul was called on B#50.

Is anything wrong with this enforcement?

Not much info to work with but guessing that we had a DB-PF for a late hit which would be 15 yards from the previous spot.  Snap was from the A-39 1/2 so it looks like the ball was placed on the wrong side of the B-45 yard line.

Dead ball fouls are always enforced from the succeeding spot.

The succeeding spot in this case is the previous spot since the play was an INC-FP, but Kalle is correct in that I should have used the term succeeding spot to be correct.

The ball was snapped just short of the Team A 40.  When the walked off the penalty they spotted the ball just inside the Team B 45. The ball should be on the other side of the B 45. They missed it by a half yard.  The problem with the crew walking off this penalty is that you have a major yard line and this is what make the enforcement look to me real bad.

Geez, I hope nobody is literally "walking off" a penalty. Do the math, and move to the proper spot and place the ball. Literally "walking off" the distance would, indeed, explain how this happened. And that's why you don't do that.

Yes. DB-PF for a late hit which would be 15 yards from the succeding spot. Is the yardage that was marked off the only thing that is wrong with the enforcement?

They enforced from the wrong hash mark, after enforcement, the ball should have been spotted on the B-45 on the left hash.

Not sure I would have called this a DB-PF. A little too technical for me. Maybe a warning, but he didn't launch and it wasn't a headshot. He went into the WR's shoulders. Good football hit, ball hadn't even hit the ground yet which makes it a LB foul and would make it possible to offset with another foul. But again, I'm not throwing on this.

You're kidding - right? Check the video again. The ball has clearly hit the ground, the play is over, A30 is clearly relaxed because it is obvious the play is over, and then B50 decides to knock the crap out of him. No, not a launch, not contact above the shoulders, or use of the helmet, but clearly - CLEARLY - a late hit. This one has to be called.

Sorry SJ_31; however, that is very much a DB UNR-LTP on #50 (the kid he hit went to the ground) ... If the HL had not thrown the U, B, S and H would have received a big time "No Call" and a stern lecture "about keeping your head on a swivel when the play becomes dead" from the grader...  The conference supervisors want this type of action out of the game.

SJ31 - Are you looking at the right hit? ?   It is not the hit on the intended receiver that was flagged.  It was the 2d hit (VERY late) by a defender who went into THE BACK of a kid who was just standing there.   That HAS TO BE flagged

sorry guys, looking at the wrong hit. Yes the second hit by blue #50 is absolutely a DB PF. Was trying to figure out what all the fuss was about on the intended receiver. No question the second hit is a foul.

LT might want to get up on the line, HL might want to try having the flag in the front belt rather than back pocket.

Looks like the chains got the spot right, just got placed on the wrong side of the line (and wrong hash). Not the end of the world.

I was thinking the same as SJ31 but then saw the 2nd hit as well. 

Agree with keeping the flag somewhere you can get to it, no need to pick it up and throw again... and I know the clock is stopped on the incomplete pass, but would have looked better to give a stop the clock signal, imo
