Rule decisions final?

2/10 on A-30. A32 runs to A-35. After the ball is dead A92 slugs B55. After enforcement the officials incorrectly mark the ball as 2/20 on A-20. The ball is snapped and A32 runs to A-21. The officials notice the error in the down number. What next?

Rule 12-3-5-d-2 states that a replay official can correct the number at any time during a series of downs.

Question is: what if your league doesn't have instant replay? I guess the only option would be to correct the mistake as soon as possible and be prepared to eat some humble pie.
