PF ? Illegal BBW ?

Please, tell me what you are thinking about the low block made by the "potential" kicker in this video (D1 in France, 2011-2012 NCAA rules).

We did not penalize it, but one of the coach told us this was the ugliest foul he have seen for 25 years!

On my opinion, the block is legal :
- the blocker was in the tackle box
- he initiated the block with his back (no head toward knees for instance)

As ugliest as it seems, I think this is legal. But maybe I missed something...

What is important is where the force of the block comes from, not what part of the blocker's body is used to deliver it.

That being said, this is a legal block.  even if it had been outside the tackle box, the block is essentially a N-S block and there was no kick during the down.

Of course, I agree. It was not an illegal BBW. Then the question I asked me was: is this a PF? No more.
But I guess it could be, if the initial contact was with his head.

Why would it be a PF? It is a block, below the waist, and legal. It is not unnecessarily rough, either. And yes, if he would use his helmet, then it would be a foul. He didn't, so it isn't.

The coach needs to learn that not all ugly plays are fouls.

Nothing illegal here, that's no different than a tailback blocking a rushing linebacker in pass protection.

Even if restricted, looks like at worst 10:45, maybe closer to 11:00 to me.
