Once you get a general feel for what's required at your position, concentrate on ONE item per game. When you get that down, move on to the next.
For example, you might go into a game thinking "Tonight, when I have a run to my side, I'm going to make sure I move toward the backfield and let the play flow ahead of me." Or, "Tonight, I'm going to try to be really good at watching action away from the ball."
After a while, such things will become second nature to you, and you can add to your repertoire from there.
