Better Late Than Never

Took some time to get it right but they did.  Someone is owed big time for making the crew save.

I think the lesson to learn is to never be afraid to come in early and let others in your crew know of something you have seen. My wild guess is that a wing official saw the tip but thought that the referee had a flag for somebody else, and didn't come in to let the referee know of the tip.

This yet again shows that the third team on the field need to work together as closely as a team as the other two try to.

Video shows the R having a discussion with the Katy coach giving an explanation. Does not show explaining to the Manvel coach he does not get a first down. May have, hope so!

Sure looks to me like the Katy coach makes the crew save.  If someone on the crew saw the tip and didn't get to the R before he made the first announcement shame on him.  This all took way too long for something pretty simple to deal with.

If nobody saw it you really think they would have taken the coach's word that it happened?  Might someone have sneeked a peek at the jumbotron?   >:D

I think they got it right, but I wonder who else could have seen the tip? If they did, why did they not say anything until after the conversation with the visiting coach? Did they not realize the tip could negate the roughing foul?

Here's something to professionalism and appearance. I don't know this crew at all, but here are some observations that make me feel they got it right:

There was good hustle by the crew, especially R on his way to discuss with the home coach
Good clarity of the signals by the referee
The referee had another official with him when he talked to the coaches
The officials worked to get extra personnel off the field (although the discussions could have taken place closer to the sideline)

If you do the little things, I'm much more likely to believe what you are telling me.
