Dude, you made me panic thinking that something had happened to him
Alive and well and working 7-man flag/touch football ( all that Maine currently allows). It is entirely passing, no rushing the QBs just 5 eligible receivers being covered by 7 defenders. To keep the big ole' bubbas active and out of trouble only THEY become the players in the 1st & 3rd periods. If no Bubbas can throw a pass, a backup QB can be used. While it is competition, it closer resembles a scrimmage. The kids have fun, so that's the important part.
A couple of BOB (big ole' Bubba ) happenings :
All BOB receivers line up on LOS, we flag for illegal formation, coach yells : "

of course they did, they're all lineman

"
A BOB QB weighed at least 300 lbs and could throw a pass 50+ yards. I joked that he should play there. He responded : "I'm too fat to run and I might have to and here I don't have any teammates that can run down that far to catch my passes

" He was right

!
The snappers just snap the ball and stand there as they are not eligible receivers. I'm the R in a 3-man crew with the responsibility of spotting the ball. I ask the snappers if they would like to catch the throwbacks on incomplete passes and spot the ball. They all have said "GREAT

". I remind them that the HL will keep them honest

.
I'm sure they'll be more BOB stories as the season progresses. We are hopeful that "real" football may return in the Spring.
